It is with great pleasure to announce that we at Mount Turnbull Elementary have selected Alexandra Osteen for the 2023-2024 Teacher of Distinction! Ms. Osteen is a dedicated educator. She is our special education teacher. We have observed Ms. Osteen’s commitment to her students. Her passion for teaching is reflective in her students’ commendable progress in reaching their Individual Education Plans.
Ms. Osteen proactively seeks out opportunities to enhance her instructional practices. She continuously supports and collaborates with her colleagues by sharing instructional methods she finds effective in the classroom and offering assistance when needed, which undoubtedly transformed instruction and increased effective communication with students and parents.
Ms. Osteen takes time to build a strong sense of community in her classroom and the school in general. She establishes norms and routines that are evident whether she is in the classroom or not. Ms. Osteen works diligently on building confidence within her students. Her students love her because she acknowledges their individuality and purposefully addresses their needs. Her colleagues also appreciate her for her contribution to a smoother operation of the school. She is a member of the FTUSD Safety Committee and the School Improvement Leadership Team. She also steps into the role of acting principal when called upon. She does more than the normal duties of a teacher. She cultivates high morale amongst everyone at Mount Turnbull Elementary.
Ms. Osteen is an exceptional educator who impacts our school like no other. We are wholeheartedly convinced that she deserves the honor of being named the Teacher of Distinction for 2023-2024 school year.

2nd grade had fun making and flying bird kites. It was a Thursday Thrillday activity for those who stayed out of trouble and turned all of their work in for the week.

First I want start off by giving a BIG SHOUT OUT to ALL THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS for sending their students to school today. We almost had a PERFECT ATTENDANCE. We were only missing one(1) student.
