A notice was sent home to all students last Thursday regarding some student conduct challenges middle school has been facing with numerous suspensions across all grade levels despite educational & supportive practices. We appreciate all the helpful feedback and suggestions coming from our school community about how we can maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
After asking all grade level students for their input in resolving the problems, we have all decided upon a school wide for the next month. As of yesterday, our school wide goal is to decrease suspensions by 40%. We got this team!

Expect your student athletes home early this afternoon! ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL & FOOTBALL PLAYERS are going home now due to weather and power outage.
Our 3:00 bus routes have changed starting today, September 8th. They will be as follows:
RED bus: Ridge View, Navajo Point, Ready-to-Go, Mormon Hill, Southside, Home Alone, San Carlos
YELLOW bus: Rising Sun, Ocotillo, Rainbow City, White City, Black Point, Rez Line, Hwy
If you are picking up your child after school , please come into the office and sign them out. We want to avoid students running across the parking lot unattended. Thank you!!

We are asking that all of our FTMS families help support us in our efforts to maintain safe and timely bus runs. Every 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student has been addressed regarding bus behavior practices. Each week, there has been whole grade level and individual class discussions around the following recurring issues: foul language, touching other people's things, yelling stop to bus drivers, and getting off at the wrong bus stops. We will be sending a notice home to all students tomorrow regarding school wide news & expectations.

Mt. Turnbull Elementary
We would like to welcome Teleysha Smith, she will be one of our 3rd grade teachers.
My name is Teleysha Smith, and I was born and raised in Arizona. I married a graduate, and together we raised our six children here in this wonderful valley. Although our family spent a few years in Utah while pursuing our education, we were grateful to return home to the community we love. I earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education, along with a teaching certificate with a reading emphasis, and recently completed my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After spending 16 years teaching music at every grade level, I discovered that my true passion is helping students grow across all subject areas. I believe learning is most meaningful when students can connect what they are studying to their culture, their community, and their future. I am excited to begin this new chapter as a third-grade teacher at Fort Thomas School District and look forward to building relationships with my students, partnering with families, and creating a classroom where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to learn.
