Mt. Turnbull Elementary
We would like to welcome Teleysha Smith, she will be one of our 3rd grade teachers.
My name is Teleysha Smith, and I was born and raised in Arizona. I married a graduate, and together we raised our six children here in this wonderful valley. Although our family spent a few years in Utah while pursuing our education, we were grateful to return home to the community we love. I earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education, along with a teaching certificate with a reading emphasis, and recently completed my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After spending 16 years teaching music at every grade level, I discovered that my true passion is helping students grow across all subject areas. I believe learning is most meaningful when students can connect what they are studying to their culture, their community, and their future. I am excited to begin this new chapter as a third-grade teacher at Fort Thomas School District and look forward to building relationships with my students, partnering with families, and creating a classroom where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to learn.

We have much to be grateful for and here are some highlights over the last few weeks! Our school enjoyed celebrating so many key pieces to our puzzle ;)
Shout out to our "Street Kings" always going the extra mile
the "Kitchen Queens" that are our lunch time heroes
and nothing scares a school nurse that turns all our “uh-ohs into all betters”

MTE
Shoutout to our amazing administrative assistant for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes! Your organization, patience, and dedication don't go unnoticed. You're the heart of our school's daily operations-thank you for all you do!
MTE
Poppin’ around campus with the POSITIVITY!
Students received a special afternoon treat for the positive examples they are at our school from working in their classrooms to showing up daily with some of the best behavior :) We are proud of them and look forward to recognizing more students around MTE as we near the end of our 25-26 year together.
Students in the lower grades also wrote uplifting encouraging notes for our older grades as daily positive reminders before they entered their classrooms for state testing. We would like to extend a shout to students and staff for all the hard work to show up and show out on those days ;)

Reminder tomorrow is Kindergarten Roundup. There will be NO school for Pre-K & Kindergarten students on Wednesday April 22nd and Thursday April 23rd. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 928-475-2020
